Great scores for the 2010 and 2011 wines from Stephen Tanzer

It’s great to see such positive feedback from respected wine critic Josh Raynolds, who gave 92-point scores to both our 2010 Chardonnays as well as the 2010 Bien Nacido Pinot Noir and 2011 Los Alamos Chardonnay.

2010 Bien Nacido Pinot Noir

STEPHEN TANZER’S INTERNATIONAL WINE CELLAR- 92 points, Nov/Dec 2012

Light, bright red. Red berry preserves, potpourri and gingerbread on the highly fragrant nose and in the mouth. Sappy, penetrating and seamless, with slow-building spiciness and a subtle cola quality on the back half. Closes sweet and long, with lingering spiciness and floral nuances.

2010 Bien Nacido Chardonnay

STEPHEN TANZER’S INTERNATIONAL WINE CELLAR- 92 points, Nov/Dec 2012

Light yellow-gold. Deeply pitched, musky aromas of citrus pith and anise, with complicating honey, smoke and truffle nuances. Fat and round, but with underlying minerality giving energy to the flavors of lemon, lime, licorice and minerals. Shows restrained sweetness and excellent balance, and finishes on an almost saline mineral note.

2010 Los Alamos Chardonnay

STEPHEN TANZER’S INTERNATIONAL WINE CELLAR- 92 points, Nov/Dec 2012

Light, bright gold. Fresh pear, melon and tangerine scents are complicated by smoky lees and ginger, with chalk and floral nuances adding lift. Bright, energetic and pure, offering palate-staining orchard fruit flavors and a firm spine of chalky minerality. The mineral-dominated, impressively long finish features suave notes of honeysuckle and orange zest.

2011 Los Alamos Pinot Noir

STEPHEN TANZER’S INTERNATIONAL WINE CELLAR- 92 points, Nov/Dec 2012

Vivid red. High-pitched aromas of fresh red berries, rose and allspice, with a mineral topnote. Juicy and precise, offering intense strawberry and bitter cherry flavors complemented by deeper anise and cola nuances. Pure and energetic on the subtly tannic finish, which clings with impressive authority and length.
